Drinking from Kamo River

Posted on 14 March 2012

Travel Date: 30 October 2010
Location: Shijo area, Kyoto

No I didn’t drink from the river, the title is a lie. As much as I wanted to, I didn’t. Because I was alone and I didn’t want to be seen as some silly fella. Something to regret about? Perhaps.

It’s all started from a story written in a book and I’m still very curious about how does the river taste like. Now I’m making sure to do it the next time, only if there’s a next time of course.

Stroll along the river bank

Watching over the Shijo Bridge

How To Get There

  • Kamo River or Kamogawa (鴨川) is quite long and can be accessed from several places. I went down to the river bank from Shijo Bridge. More info regarding Kamo River.
