The Largest Graveyard: Okunoin, Part II

Travel Date: 2 November 2010
Location: Okunoin, Mt Koya

So I came back to Okunoin (奥の院) again today, just because I love the place so much! Besides, I also came to look for some famous graves which I didn’t manage to find in the rain yesterday.

Date Masamune's (伊達政宗)

Oda Nobunaga's (織田信長)

7 stones

Twins! Or maybe not.

The perfect weather today makes the autumn foliage even more awesome to enjoy. Was extremely reluctant to leave here. :(

Still gorgeous. The red! The yellow!

Floor of ginkgo leaves! ♥

Lovely spread

Was great to be able to enjoy the autumn colours without much crowd too! :)

How To Get There

  • It’s 5 min walk from Eko-in (恵光院). Should be very close to Ichi no Hashiguchi (一の橋口) bus stop.
